Why Choose Carpet for Your Denver Home?
Carpet remains one of the most popular flooring choices for Denver homeowners, and for good reason. In Colorado's dry climate, carpet provides warmth and comfort underfoot while reducing heating costs. Modern carpet technology has made today's options more stain-resistant, durable, and beautiful than ever before. If you need moisture protection in bathrooms or basements, consider our waterproof flooring options.
At Colorado Carpet & Flooring, we carry an extensive selection of carpet styles from industry-leading brands like Shaw, Mohawk, Dream Weaver, and Stanton. Whether you're looking for plush bedroom carpet, durable family room options, or pet-friendly solutions, our Castle Rock showroom has thousands of samples to choose from.
Our carpet experts help Denver homeowners navigate fiber types, pile heights, and construction methods to find the perfect match for their lifestyle and budget. For those who love the warmth of carpet but want a hardwood look in other rooms, we can help you coordinate styles. You can also create custom area rugs from any carpet in our showroom. We offer professional installation throughout Castle Rock, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, and the entire Denver metro area.

Understanding Carpet Fiber Types
The fiber type determines your carpet's durability, stain resistance, and feel. Our experts help you choose the right fiber for your lifestyle.
Nylon
The gold standard for durability. Nylon bounces back from crushing and resists wear. Best for stairs and high-traffic areas.
Polyester (PET)
Excellent stain resistance and vibrant colors. Softer than nylon at a lower price point. Great for bedrooms.
Triexta (SmartStrand)
Combines nylon's durability with polyester's softness. Built-in stain protection that never wears off.
Wool
Natural luxury with inherent stain resistance. Sustainable, hypoallergenic, and incredibly soft. Premium choice.

Carpet Flooring FAQs
Carpet installation costs in the Denver area typically range from $3-$12 per square foot installed, depending on carpet quality, padding, and room complexity. We provide free in-home estimates with exact pricing. Factors affecting cost include carpet fiber type, pile density, and any necessary subfloor preparation.
For bedrooms, we recommend plush or frieze carpet in polyester or triexta fibers. These provide maximum softness underfoot and excellent stain resistance. Since bedrooms have lower traffic, you can prioritize comfort over durability.
Quality carpet typically lasts 10-15 years with proper care, though premium nylon carpets can last 20+ years. Factors affecting lifespan include fiber type, pile density, padding quality, traffic levels, and maintenance. We recommend professional cleaning every 12-18 months.
We recommend 7/16" thick, 6-8 lb density padding for most applications. Higher density padding improves carpet feel, extends carpet life, and provides better insulation. For stairs, we use thinner, firmer padding for safety.
Carpet should typically be installed over a smooth, clean subfloor for best results. We can install over some existing hard surfaces, but old carpet should always be removed. Our installers will assess your subfloor and recommend any necessary preparation.
